Sweet and Sour Cherry Yogurt Pops are a tangy and refreshing summer treat!

I’m back with day two of “Frozen Treat Week,” a fun summery week of tons of delicious frozen recipes from a whole slew of fabulous bloggers. (Plus exciting giveaways…see below!!) I purchased a set of fancy popsicle molds for the occasion- knowing I’d want a wide variety of frozen deliciousness. They were easy to use and I am so excited to now have the option of popsicles whenever I want them!

I had a quart of greenmarket sweet and sour cherries dying to be used, and since it was about 150 degrees outside, some slightly sweet and also tangy yogurt pops sounded like just the thing. These took no time to make, were frozen solid in just a few hours- and tasted so SO good. If you haven’t had sour cherries they are really delicious- tangy with a little pucker- (but not too much!)

Sweet and Sour Cherry Yogurt Pops

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Total Time: 4 hours

Yield: 8 popsicles

Ingredients

  • 2 cups vanilla flavored yogurt
  • 2 cups cherries (a combo of sweet and sour, or whatever you have.)
  • sugar to taste*

Instructions

  1. In a blender or food processor, combine all ingredients and puree until smooth, with a few bits of cherry intact.
  2. Pour into popsicle mold, add sticks and freeze for 4-5 hours or until solid.
  3. To pop out of the molds- run under hot water until they come right out.

Notes

*I used half sweet and half sour cherries and needed 1/8 cup of sugar to make them my desired sweetness. If you use all sour- you will need more and may not need any if using sweet cherries. Taste to see how you like it :)
